Dr. Jody Bennett

BSc, DVM, Owner

Jody graduated with a BSc in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Alberta in 1996. She went on to complete a degree at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (University of Saskatchewan) in 2002. Since graduating, she has been employed at Terwillegar Veterinary Clinic and has been part owner of the clinic since November 2008. Jody has been guardian to many pets and currently shares her home with two furry family members.

Sherry Lee

Registered Veterinary Technologist, Owner

Sherry graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at NAIT in 1987. She immediately started working at the Southside Animal Hospital where she continued to work for 18 years. In 2005 she made the transition to Terwillegar Veterinary Clinic and became part owner of the clinic in November of 2008. Working with animals over her career has been, and continues to be, a labour of love and she wouldn't want it any other way.

Dr. Alison Hammel

BSc, DVM

Dr. Hammel, born in Edmonton, graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 2017. She went on to study veterinary medicine at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, graduating in 2021. Dr. Hammel’s family has been bringing their pets to TVC since she was very young. When she was in grade 1, she already knew that one day she would become a veterinarian and work at TVC. She currently shares her home with three pets—Freddy, a 7-year-old Beagle Lab cross, Tina, an 8-year-old cat, and her newest addition, Henry, a 10 month old Golden Retriever. When not working, she spends her time hiking, downhill skiing, cycling, and spending time outdoors with her dogs.

Dr. Natalia Mackowiak

BSc, BVMS

Dr. Mackowiak graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences in 2016. She went on to study veterinary medicine at the University of Glasgow, graduating in 2021. She joined our team as a part-time veterinarian in June 2022. Most days, she brings her one year old Golden Retriever, Finn, to work with her. He spends his day getting an excellent workout playing non-stop in the office with Dr. Hammel's Golden Retriever, Henry. When not working, Dr. Mackowiak enjoys running, hiking, downhill skiing, cooking, and spending time outdoors.

Dr. Jenny Puttick

BSc, MSc, DVM

Jenny studied at the University of Saskatchewan, graduating in 2002 with a BSc in Biochem. She completed a Masters Degree in structural biochemistry in 2008 and then went on to study veterinary medicine at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2011. She completed a rotating small animal internship at Michigan State University in 2012. Since graduating, she has worked as an emergency veterinarian at Guardian Veterinary Centre until recently, when she joined our team. She shares her home with three animals – Annie Ice cream, Wally Waffle cone and her most recent addition, Zoey. When not at work, she enjoys walking, adventure racing, and “mom stuff”. She also enjoys baking, including killer sour dour bread.

Dr. Sam Cheung

B.Sc.,M.Sc.,Ph.D.,BVM&S

Dr.Sam completed his veterinary training at the University of Edinburgh Royal (Dick) Veterinary School. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Biochemistry, a Master of Science in Immunology from the University of Manitoba, and PhD in Medical Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Alberta. In addition, he completed a 2 year fellowship at the University of Calgary Veterinary Medical School and another at the University of Alberta. His clinical interests include dealing with allergies and he is passionate about making vet visits as low stress as possible for owners and their pets. In his spare time, he enjoys eating good food.

Dr. Ana Villarreal

B.Sc.,DVM

Ana graduated with a BSc in Agriculture, majoring in Animal Science, from the University of Alberta in 2015. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies, in 2025. A lifelong cat lover, Ana was an active member of the St. George's University Feral Cat Project during vet school and now shares her home with her partner and their four cats. She is passionate about animal health and welfare, with a strong interest in improving access to affordable veterinary care. Outside of the clinic, Ana enjoys playing video games, spending time with her cats, and fundraising for animals in need.
Originally from Mexico, Ana is proud to offer veterinary services in both English and Spanish, ensuring compassionate care for a diverse range of clients.

Mallory Neumann

Registered Veterinary Technician

Mallory graduated from NAIT’s Animal Health Technologist program in 2011. She got her start in the animal world as veterinary clinic volunteer. She went on to work as a marine animal care attendant and held various veterinary clinic positions, including animal care assistant, kennel attendant and reception staff. She is looking into further training in animal behaviour, as this is an area of great interest to her. Outside of work, Mallory enjoys spending time outdoors, whether its at the beach, sitting on a patio, hiking, taking a long walk, camping, or surfing. In winter, she gets away to the mountains to snowboard, but she really hates the cold.
Mallory has always lived with dogs and is planning to adopt another one in the near future.

Michele Weldon

Registered Veterinary Technician

Michele graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at NAIT in 2000. She has worked at several clinics and hospitals over the years. Michele has always had an interest in exotic animals, being a wildlife rehabilitator and running Edmonton Reptile Rehab. And Rescue for several years. Her home is filled with snakes, turtles, lizards, birds, a guinea pig, dog and cat.

Courtney Greene

VMA, Registered Veterinary Technician

Courtney spent most of her life in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She moved to Edmonton in 2017 to enroll in the Veterinary Medical Assistant Program at NAIT. She completed her practicum at TVC after which she was happy to accept a full-time position. She graduated with her RVT diploma in December of 2023. Courtney has had many pets, including dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, mice and fish. She currently lives with an older orange tabby cat, Katie, and a yellow lab, Sweet Dee. When not at work, she loves to play soccer, travel, run, camp and attend live music shows.

Daniella Froese

Registered Veterinary Technician

Daniella grew up on a small family farm in Southern Alberta where her love of animals all started. Growing up she always wanted to become a Vet but after doing a career shadow day at her Uncles Vet clinic she discovered Vet Techs and knew that was the career for her. In 2012 she graduated the Animal Health Tech program at Lakeland College and worked in small animal clinics in the Lethbridge area. In 2014 Daniella Married her husband Luke and the two moved to Edmonton so Luke could start his career with the Edmonton Fire Department and Daniella joined the Terwillegar Vet Team. She has been with us ever since only taking a few years off here and there to welcome her two beautiful children. Daniella has a soft spot for blind animals, she has a blind cat named Raya and previously cared for a little blind Pomeranian named Muffy. Daniella's passion is in client communication and education making sure all owners are able to offer the best possible care to their beloved furry family members.

Leah Plecash

Registered Veterinary Technician

Leah was born and raised in Edmonton. She graduated from the NAIT animal health technology program in 2020. After working in general practice for a few years she made the switch to the Animal Care and Control Centre where she works full time, as well as Saturdays at Terwillegar Vet Clinic.

Leah has a big grey tabby cat named Beef and a rescue pitty mix named Lucy. When she is not working, she enjoys going on adventures with her dog and relaxing on the couch watching cheesy reality TV and true crime documentaries.

Faith Schutz

VMA, Reception

Faith grew up on a farm in Stony Plain where she was surrounded by cats, dogs, cows, horses, sheep, chickens, and a llama. She has always loved and felt very close with animals. Faith graduated from NAIT with a Veterinary Medical Assistant (VMA) Diploma in May 2022. She currently lives with an orange tabby cat, Doobie, and a Golden Retriever named Ruby. Outside of work, her favorite pass times are camping, time with family and friends, travel and spending time outdoors.

Courtney Walters

VMA, Reception

Courtney was born in Burin, Newfoundland and moved with her family to Edmonton when she was just under two years old. She studied at NAIT graduating with her Veterinary Medical Assistant (VMA) diploma in 2014. She has an 8-year-old Bengal cat, named Marbles, who has brown rosettes and bright green eyes. She also has a 2-year-old son who is her entire world and keeps her on her toes—there is never a dull moment! When not working or running after her son, she enjoys baking—from cookies, tarts and cupcakes to pies and birthday cakes.

Keara Cooke

Assistant

Keara has lived in Edmonton since 2014 when she moved with her family from London, Ontario. She graduated from Louis St. Laurent High School in 2022 and has been volunteering and now working at TVC since October of 2021. She currently shares her home with Alfie the Bernedoodle, but dreams of a second dog (hopefully soon!). When not working, she most enjoys hikes with her dog and anything to do with the outdoors. Her dream is to one day own a farm to rescue as many animals as possible, hopefully including a few cows, horses and goats.

Dallyn Smith

VMA

Dallyn was born in Toronto, Ontario, and later relocating to Alberta in 2007, Dallyn has had the opportunity to experience life across various parts of the province, including Peace River, Grande Prairie, and now Edmonton, where she resides with her partner.

With a strong passion for animal care, Dallyn holds a Veterinary Health Care Assistant diploma and currently works full-time at the Boreal Vet Center, in the cardiology department. Also working Saturdays at Terwillegar Veterinary Clinic.

When she's not working, Dallyn loves nothing more than cuddling up on the couch with her two cats and indulging in true crime documentaries. She's a plant lover, with a thriving collection of houseplants, and shares her home with two playful pet frogs. In the summer, you'll often find her at the familys lake property, embracing the freedom and adventure of life in her 1976 GMC Vandura RV.

Kaitlyn Milton

VMA

Kaitlyn graduated from NAIT with a Veterinary Medical Assistant (VMA) diploma in April , 2024. She is a major dog lover and have had them most of her life. Right now she has a three-year-old dog named Teddy, who either lazes around on the couch or runs around in the fields. Currently she is planning to apply to Thompson Rivers University and attend their 2026 Registered Veterinary Technician program (RVT).
